When I placed my first ad for my book
What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?
The plot, the characters, the suspense
Describe your perfect book hero or heroine.
My perfect book hero is someone who is a reluctant warrior on a mission
Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
Yes, writing brings out what is deep within your mind and soul. It is a process of self-discovery
What comes first, the plot or characters?
I choose the plot first and the characters fall into place
How do you develop your plot and characters?
I develop a plot based on what story I would read, which is an inspirational message within an entertaining story
How do you select the names of your characters?
For novels I choose names that are usually descriptive of the character. When the story has humor, the character names can also be humorous. For example, in my novel The Scorpion’s Ultimate Sting I choose the name Seducia for a female hacker who was trying to seduce the protagonist
How many books have you written?
79 books and 65 short stories
Which is your favorite among all characters you’ve created?
Rattler is the curmudgeon in the Scorpion’s Ultimate Sting. The character was running from a wild boar and saved only when rattlesnakes attacked the boar. From then on, he developed a love of snakes and started his Snake Emporium museum.
Are there any projects or books you working on now?
Yes, I am working on part 2 of my eBook The Heretic’s New Testament. It exposes the provable fallacies of major religions with the only provable fact of our connection with everyone and everything. Part 2 is a compilation of scriptural writings that expand on this. Both represent 50 years of research into the purpose and meaning of life.
